hehe, i got a similar one for my camera a few days ago. being able to shoot at a reasonable shutter speed in crappy lighting conditions is pretty cool. obnoxiously shallow DOF is always fun :D
enjoy your new glass. |

| Lovely lens. You're going to like it. I've been using it almost exclusively since getting the D200, it's so clear. |

Great lens. I just put it in my bag on my way to Hong Kong Disney where I take my daughter in the next 2 hours.
You'll love it.

Hmm seems to have some trouble autofocusing at times, like when i turn off the camera> switch the switch to manual >turn back on later then i go back to auto it doesn't focus. I have to shut off the camera, turn to manual and back to auto THEN turn the camera on for it to work. Dont know if that made sense but i dont know how else to word it
edit: but it does take awsome pictures :D

Read the instructions for most lenses they will say that if you mount it in MF mode and turn the camera on, AF will not function. Take it off, switch to AF on the lense, remount and you are good to go.

Enjoy! It's so much fun to get that new piece of glass or equipment to play with :)
I just bought myself a 20-inch widescreen monitor (I work on a laptop) and wow, I love it!

almost half of the exposures on my 30D are with that lens. It's a beautiful lens, that is surprisingly flexible. The ability to be a bit more flexible with light really makes shooting indoors alot easier.
It's one of those lenses that if I didn't have it, I wouldn't really know what to do anymore. |

Congrats on your new glass...I just bought one last month (early present from Santa), and you are right, the dof is really awesome...Bought myself a 17-40mm 1:4L as well, but haven't had much time to use either...yet :-)

Great!! I picked up the 1.4 myself earlier this week! What an improvement over the kit lens!
