I want a 77mmm UV filter to protect my lens. The B+W 77mm MRC (010) UV Filter is what I'm plannig to get, but it's very expensive. Is there any other good brands? I don't mind getting the B+W, because it's good investment especially when the lens costs much more. However If there's a cheaper and same/better quality alternative that would help me a lot. Thanks for your adive.

There is no need to place extra glass over your lens protect it. If anything, that extra glass will do more harm than good in a drop situation.
More glass, especially cheap filters just degrades image quality. Didn't your lens come with a lens hood? That will do much better at protecting the actual lens element.
