Does the L in Pentax istDL stand for lite?
After 1 1/2 hours around my neck it sure does not seem lite. :)

I just have the factory neck strap now. I would like to get something that will give me more comfort. What should I look for in a neck strap?

Longer maybe ok too as I would like to sling it over my shoulder at time, but the factory one seem to short to do that with.

I would say get an Optech strap but if you are tall like me you won't be able to easily wear it around you. Otherwise they make a world of difference when worn around the neck.

I have the Optech and I'm 6'4". Works great for me.

Ooooooh I have a neoprene neck strap on both of my cameras, found them in the local camera store - they're by OpTechUSA Super Classic Strap
and they rock. They have some stretch to them, so the camera kinda bounces along as you walk rather than being a dead weight, and they're wider & padded.... oh and $20! :)

I use a neoprene neckstrap by Lowepro. Very comfortable.

I have a neoprene from Tamrac. Has a place for 2 extra cards and quick release buckles. I can't stand the factory ones. I walk around with my 70-200 and teleconverter hanging from mine and it's really comfortable.
