I took this photo outside today.. what do you all think? I used Sepia because it just brings out her features. Would you do anything different here? This is my sons best friend, she wants to be a model someday.

Well the first thing I have to say is it looks like she's having a good time, and that's the key ingredient great portraits (imho). I like the Sepia tone, it seems to work well with her skin tone and hair color.

The one thing that seems to be off a bit is the background. While this is a great background and works quite well for portraits, her hair and the bark of the tree almost blend together in a tonal sense. Of course you can make out her hair fairly well, but I spent the same amount of time looking at the background as I did at her.

Maybe moving her forward a bit more and having less light on the tree directly behind her would give her head/hair a darker figure to be placed in front of?

Just my two cents, I hope it helped!

Yeah I see it now.. maybe if that bark of the tree right behind her head was the same color as the bark on the left, it would have been perfect. I will consider that next time. Thanks :)

No problem, glad I could help.

You're right, the tree at the left is just about right. A shallower DOF (if possible) may also help.

Beautiful picture of a beautiful girl. Her smile is great. The smoothing of her hand is just a little too much, almost looks like she is wearing a sheer glove with not much definition between the bracelet and her skin. I'm guessing this was a result of using a Portrait mode in your camera so you may not have very precise control of it. I think I'd use clone brush to take the glare spots off her teeth. Skintones are very good. Add this to what Quadrajet said and you're up to 4 cents.
