Except for freakin Farmington, NM! (only 18 miles south of Colorado but on the west side of the divide) while it DID snow, it didn't stick, teeny frozen worthless flakes and cold high winds all night long..... still windy, still cold. It always goes around this little geographic hole!

I've been at work for 18 hours. Haven't slept in more than 24 hours. Won't be able to leave work for at least another 16 hours. I have a little cot here that I may get to lay down on for a few hours. But the phone won't stop ringing.

Tomorrow I look for a new job...

I live in Aurora and work in Englewood, about 11 mile trip. I went into work with no trouble, took 20 minutes in the bit of snow that was on the ground. At 11:00 we were told operation was shutting down. I didn't get home until 1:15!!!!!!! This is my first winter here and you would think people knew how to drive when it snows. But NOOOOOOOOOOOO.........

Added: As Becky said 'yay for 4 wheel drive'

Two words explain the idiocy of the driving:
(1) Texans
(2) Californians

ROFL,

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow......lol...

Nothing up here in south dakota. :)

Sounds like we may get a inch of snow Thursday...

DIA closed till Thursday night. Looks like no freight coming in tomorrow, means no work for me. I'll know in the morning. The downside? Double the work Friday and Saturday and we may even need to work Sunday

The wind is blowing, so the depth varies a lot. I'm in Thornton (north Denver), so I'm sure Golden and Boulder (closer to the mountains) are much worse.

Also, I'm not going outside, so you'll have to settle for crappy "through the window" pics. =)

- First is a 4-foot drift in our back yard that looks like Mount Krumpet! That's a 5-foot fence there (slightly downhill).

- Second is the view out the front door - wreath and all.

- Third is some cars semi-buried in the apartment complex across the street.

Hooray for SnowDays! At least when I'm not trying to go somewhere! =)

No, I just think it is the stupid Colorado-ans in general. They just have too much ego and think they can "pull it off". And then decide to just stop for no good reason.

That would have been so much fun to be home now...hmmm.

I spent 4 years in the Denver area, lived in Thornton & Wesminster, worked in Wesminster, Aurora and Stapleton, went to school in East Denver. 4 years I wanted to experience a "city-stopper" of a snow storm. It happened 2 months before I moved there and a few months after I graduated and left.

I mostly experienced 4 years of the northern section of the I-25 construction. (moved to ABQ and experienced 2 more years of I-25 construction, ;-)

I'm missing all the fun! (and not fun) My experience with 4-wheel drives and Coloradoan drivers. They are a whole helluva lot better than New Mexico drivers! but many forget the 4WD or not, ALL CARS STOP THE SAME!..... or not as the case may be! Have fun all you snowbound. Sorry for those stuck NOT at home.

Well, while we got flurries, there is still not measurable snow in Canon City. Roads are closed all around us. My youngest daughter works near DIA and said it was a mess out that way. Her company wanted to put workers up in hotels but there were no rooms because DIA is closed. She managed to make it home safe and sound but said she counted over 100 cars stalled or stuck.

Colorado Springs airport was closed almost all day, but a United flight did land this evening. They've had over 800 flights canceled out of Denver and Springs.

Stay warm and safe everyone!

Anyone know what's happening at Crested Butte? We're going there next week. I see lots of reports in Denver, but what about out there?

Philadelphia 76'er Allen Iverson has been delayed from joining the Denver Nuggets by the storm.

You guys definitely have a different type of storm coming your way.

Boo... People spend all year joking about us Canadians and our apparently snow-covered land. It has been over 40 for the last week and I'm staring a brown and crunchy Christmas in the face.

Send that snow North, we never get that kind of stuff up here and I am thoroughly jealous.

I think this was an eastern and southern Colorado storm, so Crested Butte probably just has some normal snow, not a blizzard. We in the banana belt just had high winds (gusts over 60mph) and only 2 inches. But to southwest 20 miles they got 3 feet plus drifts and its still snowing/blowing.

I just started looking for a job in Denver/Boulder/FortCollins and am wishing I was there already, all that untracked powder and so far away!

Speaking of which, anyone know of any IT openings?
Looking for a team/project lead position in .Net technologies.
PM me if you do... please!

K you all aren't nice. As a native coloradian, now transplanted cause of the military to Okinawa Japan, I am totally missing all that snow and Colorado Christmas... there is NO Christmas like one in the Colorado Rockies with the snow and a fire place and egg nog...crap I'm cryin again...enjoy it.

Sorry for all those not able to share with us the blizzard. But me let me tell you this is not helping with the finishing touch on holiday shopping. LOL ok here are a few more pics, and by the way its still snowing. Were I live we have 4 - 5 ft drifts and most everywhere has at least 3ft.

The balcony table is up to about two feet now. I'll take and post a photo of it in the morning.

It is up to the 2nd rung of our 7ft fence. My guess is 3ft now in Parker. I bet Castle Rock has 4ft.

I feel like I am to blame. I teach 6th graders, and I told them to do their dances, and whatever else they do to get a couple snow days. All 200 of them must have took me serious and wore there pajamas backwards.

Oh well, at least it isn't as bad as that one several years ago. Now that was a blizzard!

Mountains won't get much of this. THis is coming in from the south and coliding with the foothills. It will be nice up there, and probably just the right amount of fresh powder.

At around 5pm Rye, was reporting about 4ft it hasn't stopped so I am sure we'll have some snowball fights. Haha if we can get out, I love the magical feel. Now only if Santa would bring me that new camera!!

Up north of town in Erie, we're getting quite a bit, I have about 4 feet up against one corner of the house, and probably a bit more in places. I hope both me and my wife are off work yet again tomorrow. I won't know until at least 5:30. I just hope the roads clear up by Saturday, gotta leave town, and would prefer to be on main roads. :)
