Am I to understand from this that a captain may sign up his/her entire team if it is fully subscribed (or has at least 4 team members), without each individual having to sign up on his/her own? In other words, specifically, can Team 20D (or any other team) have their captain sign them up en masse if they are remaining intact?

What I find curious about this whole setup is that it's happening on New Year's Day (hangover day) and if there is a rush on the bank it could conceivably be all over before some people have even woken up and had their coffee :-)

On the other hand, probably most people will be still awake at midnight... I can see the to-do lists now: 1. Kiss wife/husband/GF/BF/sig other, 2. Log in and register for WPL4 :-)

Is there any facility for teams that are in WPL3 to simply register that they would like to continue?

WPL is based on DPC server time I'm pretty sure; so that would be USA Eastern time zone.

Yes. If the captain has been in contact with his or her team and knows that all photographers are going to participate then the captain can send one email to signup the full team or the team if at least four photographers are confirmed. Please remember that when a team signs up and list their photographers the team need to be sure the photographers are going to participate. After the team has submitted their team no substitutions will be allowed.

That is possible but I don't for see it. Most teams are going to take their time to make sure the photographers are going to participate. As some teams found out in season three, the lack of participation from one or more photographers can bring a good team down.

Teams that are already on with the WPL3 must do the same as a new team has to do on or after January 1st, 2007. The Captain must submit a signup sheet by email that includes all the photographs on the team, who the captain is, what slot they want, and the team name. As Captain, make sure when you speak for your team that you have contacted all participants to make sure they are going to participate in the WPL4. Once you submit your team signup you cannot substitute a photographer.

Our team captain will be on vacation until 8th Jan, is it acceptable for another team member to submit the signup email?

Yes, certain circumstance will require a team member to speak for the captain. When this situation arises just place a note in your email explaining the situation. The when the captain returns he/she can validate the email.

7. Teams are allowed to signup when;
d. They know what team slot they wish to be placed.

Could explain this a bit better, are we to choose from slot 1- thru 24 where we would like to start off??

Thanks

Slots will determine what league and division your team is in. If you pick a slot that is already taken you will receive an email asking you to pick another slot.

As you can see on the schedule page your slot number could also effect which teams you play at what time.

These reason are why picking your slot is very important. Your team decides on a first come - first serve basis which league and division you want to participate and can use the schedule page to choose your strategy on what teams you wish to play at the first, middle, or last of the season.
The WPL will update these pages as signup begins so teams can see where other teams have be placed.

Hope that helps explain. If you have anymore questions feel free to contact me.

SDW

Okay, I'm new to this, so let me get it straight...

1) You PM people (or they PM you) asking them if you can put together a team until you've gained 4 of 7, meaning that you can give the team a name. This is what I'm most confused about...how to form a team?

2) On January 1st, probably at midnight, you scramble to first post your team, team name, and members on this thread and then WPL.net?

3) Do you have to have a logo by then?

4) If you are alone and you still want to be on a team, do you put your name in a random slot?? Meaning will there be a collection of 1-person wanna-be team members just floating until they're place? So if you only have 4 people, you get to choose from a hodgepodge of outcasts until you have a full team of 7? Or do these outcasts just form their own team if there are not 24 teams?

5) If you're already on a suck team, I assume you can stil be on that team at the same time as a WPL team.

I'm so confused, somebody please straighten me out 0.o

Scott - I just sent an email to wpl@knology.net per the details of the OP.

I've read thru this thread and it's still a bit confusing. Sorry.

Went to the WPL website and saw the 'Signup' link. It's for teams. How does an individual get on the list? Can teams signup now (looks like they can based on the WPL link just mentioned)? How can teams signup now based on item #1 in your list?

1. Signup submissions begins Monday, January 1, 2007
2. The signup period will continue until all 168-photographer slots and 24 team slots are full.
3. Signup submissions will be confirmed by sending your request to wpl@knology.net
4. The date and time of the signup email will be the determining factor on who signed up first. As stated above all signup submissions are on a first come รข€“ first serve basis.
