I got this link from "NASA News" about the big sunspot groups that appeared early last week:

It has a particularly stunning image by Chris VanHaus (He does not belong to DPC) of Aurora taken in Northern Wisconsin on Oct 22.

Though it was taken the morning after the challenge closed and could not have been entered I thought you might like to see it anyway.
It is the best picture of Aurora I have ever seen.
