OK, just wanted a few opinions again on this (hopefully from SC as well).
I've burned dark sheets before to a black background in advanced with no problem. If I had cream colored sheets as the background on a shot which are quite wrinkled, is there going to be a problem with dodging it into a homogeneous white? |

Right : )
I think you will get some split opinions about whether completely obliterating all detail in the BG is OK. Personally, I almost always leave just the faintest trace of detail in any BG so that I don't run afoul of the rule(r)s. |

Oooooooh them's fightin words Sneezy!
I once sent a image to my mentor - I had been 'apprenticing' for over a year and was feeling pretty cocky about my skill. I'd shot a family of four against a gray muslin. The light was awesome, the poses were great, the expressions were natural, I was sooooooo proud of the shot! When my mentor got the shot, I was anxiously awaiting the praise and gloating that would follow..... well.... he gave me absolute HELL!! For about 3 hours! Seriously made me cry! All because I was (his words) "serious enough about my work to take the lens cap off the camera, but couldn't be bothered to check the set and make it perfect before I hit the shutter - it was laziness and cutting corners and would never be GOOD ENOUGH" (He was a perfectionist, duh). Anyway - lesson learned, ANYTHING you can fix ahead of time is waaaaaay better than having to do it later.... if your serious about your work.... (That sounds just like he said it too!) lol
edit to mention - as if it wasn't obvious - my error had been a wrinkled backdrop.
