I guess I didn't realize that "Make use of light to really set the mood tone of your photograph" meant beat the viewer repeatedly over the head with your flash attachement. I thought it meant to make use of light to set the mood tone of your photograph...

And that, it sounds like, was your fatal error ;)

I think that is why some people have the huge flash units, like the ex500 Canon (or whatever it is) as it makes a better weapon to bludgeon people with ;)

I just looked through the lighting challenge again and only saw a few images that looked like they used the on camera flash. Of course, there were some that really did!

I was under the impression that we were supposed to be a bit more creative with our lighting, which is what I was trying to accomplish with my image.
