I have been told that PS CS2 using bucibic sharper/smoother (for shrinking/enlarging images respectively) does at least as good a job as GF and is much faster. Some even say that PS is better.

Fred Miranda has some that many serious photographers ay are better than GF, and they go for a fraction of the price. I have his "Resize Pro" and the earlier "SI Pro".

I have heard several users of CS2 opine that these programs aren't necessary any longer, that Photoshop does a fine job of upsizing now, but I'm still using PS7 so I can't answer tot hat.

And before those were available simple stair interpolation using bicubic in PS was said to be as good as Genuine Fractals.

I have Fred Miranda SI Pro and I think it hands down beats bicubic smoother.

Hmm, new expression to me. I'll have to remember that one. ;-)
