I stumbled across this site about a week ago, and am hooked. What a tremendous place to hang out! I decided to take the plunge, join, and start figuring our how to upload, what to upload, whether or not to enter a challenge (I figured, why not?), and how to find enough time to browse, submit, take photos, and learn learn learn. I have always loved the thrill of an unexpected opportunity and a resultant photo that surprises me. Now I carry my camera to work, when I go shopping, walk around the block...etc etc.

But the thing is, I don't really know what I'm doing. I know my camera is not top of the line or anything (Canon Power Shot S2 IS), but it can do a lot more than I am yet aware of. My big problem is impatience. I tend to skip steps - just want to go straight to the result. - so here I am on DPChallenge - don't know what half the site features are or mean (what is workshop for?), don't have any sort of photoshop program (I crop, I make things lighter, darker, whatever looks interesting), and am killing myself trying to figure out how to make my photos fit the size requirements. And I'm loving every minute!

I hope not to embarrass myself too much - but I hope that you will comment on my posted photos, and as I gain confidence, I will offer my comments. Now that I have uploaded some of my pics, I actually think I am starting to see things I don't like about some of them, that I had never noticed before. So my DPChallenge journey begins - Be gentle.
Thanks,
Maxine

Welcome to the club, I for one don't know much of what im doing iether... but I tend to stick around for a bit. Only 63+ challenges under my belt thus far.

Just peek around and read stuff. Lot of good information floating around here if ya take the time to see it... I tend to be like you though.. Give me the end result and skip a few things in the middle. 6-;
