back on Black Friday I got a second monitor, a 19" widescreen LCD. My main screen has been a 19" CRT.
I doubled the RAM in my machine, fixed a glitch to get the processor running at full speed and got a friends old vid card, a BIG step up from my 5 year old one.

my DVD drive died over the weekend...so i threw in an old CD drive to i could install the the video card (drivers on CD and the color calibrating stuff is on cd too).

So now I can work sooo much faster - it's really cool. I can put PS full screen on the crt to my left, all the palettes on the edge of the LCD and then a full browser window on the LCD too - and keep media player visible and stuff. wow. screen real estate is a resource i didn't know I was lacking!

And now you will be forced to use dual monitors for the rest of your life. Once you go there there's no going back. congratulations :)

(and I would download video drivers directly from ATI or nVidia rather than use the old ones on the CD)
