We went to the Raven's Nest Coffee Shop in Colorado Springs tonight. The first shot is of the singer who was playing tonight. "Stephanie J" is the girl in BW, her friend in color. This image seemed flat in both color and BW. I changed to BW and added some grain, but left her friend untouched. It seems to add a little visual spark.
The second shot is of Quinn. She spotted my camera and wanted her picture taken, but her approace was very shy. She would ignore me, and then shoot me a quick glance to see if I was paying attention to her or not! A little grainy as I shot it at 1600 ISO (1/40 sec, f4.0, 70-200mm L series lens).

Both nice shots, the mix of colour and b&w is very effective there.
I love the one of Quinn though, that is one cute and very muschievious looking kid *laugh* |

JD I totally love the second one. The little girl's expression is priceless. Great capture. I really like how you filled the frame with her face. Lovely blurred background. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Simon and Jacques!
I was only able to take a few shots of Quinn... I'd love to spend some time taking more shots of her. We have friends that know her parents, so maybe I can set something up. Free 8x10 for them, great shots in my portfolio for me!
Also... thanks for taking a look at my Pbase gallery, Jacko! I checked yours out, but I didn't see any shots of the baby! (Samuel, right?).
I'm sure you have many wonderful photos of him by now. How is everything going with being a new parent?

A Girl!! A girl named Quinn!!
I've met boys. I've heard of girls. I've never met a girl named Quinn. Well, now I've kinda seen one, so that sorta counts.
Oh yes, she will hear about a bagillion times as she grows up. |
