Ive just been testing out my new camera and trying to learn how to use photoshop. I took a pic and did some things and just wanted some critiquing for it. I changed a lot. :) The first is the original.

So tell me what ya think!

I like the skin color better.
What background color is correct?

Surprisingly the second one is more acurate. The walls are like a sage-ish color.

For me... I prefer the original. (greenish skin isn't for me)

If the red is bothering you, you could maybe turn down the red just a bit. Try this with a hue/sat layer: Switch to the reds and add about a +2 or +3 to the hue. That will turn the reds just slightly more yellow even without desaturating them or changing the rest of the image.

I do agree the skin tone is off. Couldnt quite get that right without messing up the background colors. At least I havent learned how to do that.

I agree about the greenish skin but its also in the hair. I like the original overall but there are elements in the edited version that I like. For instance I like the change in eye color and the background. Have you tried using a lasso or magnetic lasso to select they eyes and move them to a different layer to edit them separately? Just do the same things you did on the edited version only do it ONLY to the eyes and the background.

Just a thought.

i think the skin tone in the first one was too reddish, and the second one more yellow... here's my quick take on it..not sure if it's any better or not.

Yeah I wanted to do something like that, but I completely suck at using those tools. My hand shakes too much.

And Crystal I like your version on the skin tone! I will do some more when I am at home. Thanks for everyone's input! Its greatly appreciated.
