First things first... for for 400xti you are going to need the latest ACR update (Adobe Camera Raw)

First get the ACR update for you camera from the website faidoi sent you to. While at the site read the installation instructions for update and follow them closely. Restart you computer and then open CS2. You should be able to view the photos and edit them at this point.
Open a file and play with all of the options ACR offers. You will start to get a feel for it. Do some searches on Adobe RAW files and how to work with them.
Before you know it you will be a pro.

My recommendation is also to make a third party folder for all the actions, etc. that you will soon load.
I put a folder called Third Party Photoshop inside the Photoshop CS folder (hard drive/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS2/Third Party PS), then I copied all the other little folders (Plugins, etc.), and made a special Camera RAW folder, into it, so when updates happen or something goes to crap (I get it alot of it with my Mac and Software Update...it likes to "reset" the Camera RAW to the basic style, because of a Nikon NEF file...anyway...), I have those files easily replaceable and don't have to go searching the web for it.
