It will really come down to the interface but they have some interesting ideas in that demo. About damn time technology did something useful - I work in IT and just see the same ideas re-packaged over and over - it's time we did something that makes a difference rather than just more of the same.

I got to play with something just like this at a conference two weeks ago, that setup cost $18K. Most of the cost is in the huge touch-sensitive surface. I know people who are working on doing the same thing with a camera that tracks where your fingers are on a regular table. If that technology every gets perfected then we might actually see this at consumer market prices...

Unfortunately there will need to be a deamnd for this technlogy before we will ever see it. If it is ever adopted, I'd hedge a bet that it will likely be the gaming world to take it on.

Now, if Nintendo or Sony decide to use it in game consoles... we'll soon see it for Photo-editing.

I can see it being extremely helpful in places such as interior design, any of the graphics fields.
