Dear DPCers,
I bought my Minolta Dimage7 hi exactly 1 year ago. That marked my entry in photography. What a roller-coaster ride it has been, and since joining DPC, a most enjoyable and thoroughly educational one to boot.
With the Minolta, I've fully pressed the shutter release well over 30,000 times and half-pressed it far more. Just imagine the cost of film development for that! And the value in the immediate feedback cannot be understated. I'm still a slow learner, though, and it'll be some time before I compete for a ribbon here.
I bought the Minolta for 150,000 yen. The new Canon digital Kiss/ Rebel/ 300D is now retailing here with lens for just under that. I wonder what the situation will be like in a year from now...
This is just a quick note to say thanks to all you out there in photographic cyberspace.
Jim
