So I downloaded photoshop to try for 30 day's free.

I had put it on my laptop and played with it for a couple day's.
Each time I started it a screen reminded me how much time I had left.

It ran kind of slow compared to paint shop pro 8 I was using so I uninstalled photoshop and went back to psp8 for a couple days.

I then upgraded my ram from 512MB to 1 gig and psp8 really runs fast for me now so a couple weeks after I first installed photoshop I decided to install it again to see if it ran faster now too.

Guess I dont get anymore free trial now as after photoshop starts I get a screen saying I have to buy it to keep using it.

I would really love to see if it's going to run at a ok speed before I go and pay for it now.

Anyone know if there is anything I can do to start the 30 day trial again?

I did really only get to try it for a couple day's before I unstalled it.

I had the same problem with the trial of Elemnets 4. No idea how to fix it, but I did buy 5, works great for me.

Try emailing Adobe support and asked them how to remove the 'cookie' they left behind. Then you can share with us! ;-)

What are your system specs? I'm sure there are several people on here that can tell you if it'll run smoothly or not based on that information alone.

With those specs I would expect it to be noticeably slower than PSP8. I run PSP9 and PSE5 at home on my desktop (Celeron 2.53GHz + 512MB on XP). It seems to take about the same time to load but once loaded, PSP9 feels fast and PSE5 feels like it is thinking a lot. For example, when adjusting contrast and I have "Preview" checked, it updates the image slowly and in blocks.

On my work machine it runs fine but that is a little faster (3.2GHz P4 + 1GB on Vista).

Yeah, that machine is not really the best for running PS on. The RAM is good, 1gb is generally the standard now. The only thing that's really holding you back is that Celeron CPU.

thanks guys,
Going to keep working with psp8 until we upgrade the desktop next year.
I need learn psp8 anyway, just got a book for it and I have had the program from day one when it first come out.

I found it extremely slow, and I have a fast machine. It just takes too long to do stuff. I find Picasa fast for storing and cataloguing images. I have CS2, and thought I would try PSE5 for some of the new features, it was slow as a wet wick!
