I took this shot of Basildon House - a National Trust property and one of the locations used for the 2055 film of Pride and Prejudice - the other night. Night shots are pretty new to me and wondered if anyone had any thoughts as to the shot?

Thanks for the comment. Sadly, I could not get too many other shots as there was a TV crew there doing a live link to a regional programme and their Outside Broadcast van was parked very close to the house!
Did get this other one though and plan to take more next year when the house re-opens. Problem with this one (well one of them anyway!) are the ghostly images to the right: they could see me taking the photo on the tripod and just talked - loudly - about whether I was taking a photo or not. Quite funny really...

Thanks for all of the comments re the second shot. It is my favourite as well and now I have seen it with fresh eyes this morning I can see how more of a narrative is in the picture than the "head on" shot.
Thanks again. |

Focal length 18mm on my Tamron 18-200mm lens
PP:
- minor raw adjustments in Bibble Pro (colour temp)
- perspective crop in PS
- shadows and highlights in PS
