I'm building a website (Yes finally after all of these years) and I have been trying to find features from different site's that give me idea's and inspiration for my site. Does anybody here know of any sites that have unique features that I could go and check out? Things like a different or really cool style of pointer or some cool special effects. I've been surfing for nearly a week now and I'm running out of time. So, I thought I could ask the camera Gods to smile on me. I have no offering except prayer and promise to try really hard in my photo life. Any help or wisdom out there?
Thanx

Come on not one person answered this thread. Nobody has seen an inspiring site to refer. A little hard to believe. Could you think hard and post something that has some qualities that could be passed on to an aspiring web in design. Or if you just don't want to help Then Say so. Don't be shy you wont hurt my feelings. Thanx for anybody that can

Make your site easy to navigate and design it in such a way that whatever content you are delivering via the site is accessible and presented well. Wacky mouse pointers, gimmicky effects - these things serve no purpose and really give an amateurish look to any site. |

What he said.
Last thing you want is to annoy the viewer unless you're making a tribute site for bad 90's web pages. In which case you would want to pile on all the blinking fuchsia text on neon green background that you can. You'd also probably want to forget about the photography and stick with animated gif clipart. |

Try coolhomepages.com. Lots of ideas.
Avoid 'cool stuff'in your site just because you think it's neat. A site should tie together, not be a collection of 'neat things'

Yeah! Me and my firend ( Eliaslewinsky) also used www.clikpic.com when we created our homepage.
Take a look at this one. Very simple like ours - meyerandlewinsky.com. |
