Godgiven simplicity. My first name is Ger (short for Gerardus) and my last name is Maessen. It also was my bands'name. I think I'll sew Bill Gates for using it too. I'm clearly the rightful owner. |

Wooden Ewe Signs is the name of my company. Most people say "Oh Would you?" "Wouldn't You?" is the response I give. |

In college they took my last name and converted in to Grimace. They would then scream it up and down the dorm halls whenever they saw me. No I am not big and purple. oddly enough grimace is usually taken as a name on the internet so I took my first initial and added it tom make it unique. Only downside is that it most think I am sad or disgusted all the time. |

When the Garfield show was in Tv here in Iceland the
dogs name was translated to Oddur which is my name so
I found Odie to be a perfect fit. |

I need to change the spelling of that name. The origins are long and very uninteresting, so the origins fit me better than the name itself, even if I'm only 6 foot 2.
You could find a name more common than Peter, or than Peter Richards, but you'd have to go some.
The start of secondary school was the start of French. Someone observed that an awful lot of French words seemed to have an 'ay' sound in them, and proceeded to develop a private schoolboy slang in which 'ay' was the only vowel and replaced nearly all others.
They were so talented.
From my surname came a nickname which got closer and closer to Rachel and ended up identical with it.
Humour can be so cruel.
The abbreviated nickname that came out of all this was usually spelt, insofar as it was ever spelt at all, with yer puckah French accented é: Réche. Being - er - 'French', the 'ch' is softened to a 'sh' sound. For one reason or another, this became the name by which I was most commonly known for about the next twenty years.
When later I buggered off to France for one reason or another, I eventually learned that there is, in fact, a word similar to réche but slightly different: rêche. Look it up, I dare you.
So that is the name to which I want to change my user-monniker, because I may not be twisted, but rêche? oh, yes.
You still there? Happy new year.
Rêche

Despite the self explanitory nature of the name, my friends young daughters were cool subjects. Since I would often shoot them when we all got together, they gave me the name.
Cool thing is I have a twin here - fotodude. Not sure what Brandons story is though.

My user name comes from archery, my other passion. A 3D target is a type of target that I like to shoot. It is a life sized foam animal target. As I usually have at least one camera on me when I go out to do archery, I thought this would be an appropriate nickname.

PhantomEWO,
I spent 20 years in the USAF, my "job" was flying the F-4 Phantom II jet fighter. I was the Electronic Warfare Officer or "EWO". A little over 2000 hours and sure miss flying at 600 mph at 50 feet off the ground, what a rush, better than any drugs ever! |

Mambe is like my nephew called me when he was a baby , I like it so much and I'm planning to change my real name for this one , now it's possible to do that in Spain.
It's a name I feel at ease with , like if it was really mine , I even sign with it and it's the name I've put on my letterbox. It sounds good in spanish , different but nice , at least for me. |

rennie - I choosed it because it reminds me of the very old book by Colette "Claudine", which I red in my early teens. Claudine had a gril-friend named Rennie and there was a line, in which Claudine says: "Rennie - the name that smells sweet like redcurrants". I liked it.
As Rennie is the clostes foneticaly word (in English) to Renia - a short and childish version of my name Renata, which is how I was called by my friends - when it came to make a nickname in one of the Polish chats - I choosed this one (ages ago).
Due to the fact, that I was a net-addict for many years and for one year constantly chatting, rennie has got some kind of personality :)
I feel it's almost my second name now.
Unfortunately now most of the people connect rennie with a antiacid medicine, which after second thought is not so bad.

Back in the Stone Age of the Internet, I did a ton of free websites at Geocities. When I had to choose a username I went with a german word for parrot - hence, papagei. Everything english seemed to be taken and I just decided to stick with it all these years :) |
That's funny - my other nick I used more often now, than rennie is "parrot". I used to keep parrots until my children became allergic to them :(
I switched into parrot, as "rennie" after many years in the internet became very easy way to get my real identity. So I use rennie only on safe websites - like this one :)
