I'm not used to taking candids, but this woman's face struck me when she was standing on the opposite platform as my train stopped in her station.

All feedback appreciated. :)

I like the full body wide crop as it gives more detail to the enviroment she is in.

It's a better composition also.

Actually, both work for me, but they are very different "kinds" of photos. I find as a candid street photo, the full body one works well. Yet I also find the close up works because it has a bit of a painterly feel to it.

to me, unquestionably, the full body shot has much more to say....I think the tighter crop (particularly because we can't see her eyes) is a bit , well, blah.......

I also think the cigarette ad adds something to the image......

Hope you don't mind I tried something else based on the comments made already. I agree that the close crop isn't any good by itself but what it has is more detail about the reason she captured your attention in the first place. But the comment jaxsond made about the cigarette ad giving a little something to it. Taking into account that smokers usually look older than they are (who knows if she smokes or not) this crop here kind of uses element of both of your crops to make a statement about smoking. Just a thought.....

Also I think the woman in the door reflection could be cropped out but then you start losing compositional elements by putting the old woman to close to the edge of the frame.

It wouldn't be hard to get rid of her with a bit of cloning.
