I just wanted to offer a solid thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread...
Upgrading to D200
I now have in my possession a D200, battery grip, tons of batteries and memory cards. And the 17-55mm 2.8. That was the toughest decision and so far (couple of hours), it looks and feels great.
Now I must try the following: image overlay and multi-exposures...Novelty.
The feel of the D200 with grip is outstanding. The most surprising thing so far is the shutter release clicking. Completely different than the D70. Hopefully I can let this beauty tranlate into the next step in my photography evolution! Thanks again.

That camera really is a beauty to hold and use, I had a hard time giving it back to the sales guy. (having a rough time not maxing out my cards too)

Congrats and good luck. That D200 has been calling to me for a while now. multiple exposures sounds awesome. Have Fun!! :)

see since I have muskles, the heavier lenses don't bother me at all. So the 17-55 is built heavy and solid, but it is still gonna be my new walkaround lens. Good stuff.

My D200 came in this afternoon, sans the coveted 17-55. :(

Louis, it is funny, the 17-55 hasn't captured that many high scores, so hopefully it shouldn't be too long til I am on that page...
