I took my camera to an amusement park and it got wet. All the pictures I took afterwards seem to have water spots or dust on either the sensor or the outside mirror. Can someone tell me if there's something on the outside mirror, does it need to be cleaned? I'm not sure of the correct terms to use, but the outside mirror I'm referring to is the mirror that you can actually see when you change lens. Then there is the dust that needs to be cleaned from the sensor, which can't be seen unless you've set your camera mode to clean sensor (?). Would someone assist me with these questions please, and perhaps advise on which method is the best to clean it? Thank you much!! |

There are dozens of threads about sensor / mirror cleaning and the different methods for doing the cleaning. There was a thread just yesterday. Use the forum search feature to search for "Sensor cleaning" that will be the fastest way to see all of the methods compared and discussed.

If you can see stuff on the mirror, then you'll see it in the viewfinder, but not in the end result. If you see stuff on the end result, it's most likely on the sensor or lens.
Get hold of an air blower. They are cheap and can dislodge sensor or mirror dust. |
