Ok well i put a down payment on a 350D (christmas special of $750cad) im just wondering how much memory it comes with out of the box? as in Internal memory. I dont really have the $$ atm to buy a new 2gig card right off the bat though id like too.

Unless it is a package from whoever you are buying it off I don't think it comes with any memory as standard. There is no "in camera" memory so you will need a card of some size.

there is no internal memory to speak of. there will be a starter card included, but usually they're tiny...32MB or smaller. Really only enough for a few photos. If you bought a package they might include something bigger, but if they didn't specify it, it isn't likely. fortunately you can get memory really cheap these days - Costco sells 1GB cards for about $40 cdn

In the Uk, unless you are buying a specific 'package', they don't come with any card at all.

When we got our new 400D about a month or so ago, it didn't come with anything, but Canon were doing a promotion where you got a 256MB for registering the product (which you can do online). Might be the same with the 350.

Canon don't think users need memory, but give you a free memory card when you register. I got 512mb, a bit useful!

Check it out and try to get a free CF card when you buy. Use a bit of haggling.

Same here. You can get a 1gb card from newegg for around $20-$25 USD. I'm not sure if they ship to Canada though.

I would recommend buying a card now so that when you get your new awesome camera, you get to use it. I don't know if this helps you but I found out that BestBuy is selling Sandisk 2GB Ultra II cards for $44. I got me one to complement my RiData 80x 1GB.

I found out that the register card Canon ships with the camera has a useless url on it. If you do there it just says that the site is down and to check back later. Just go to the main site and find it. They did not tell me about any free memory card though.

I wish I had a 128MB or 256MB laying around that I could just send you. But I just have my two cards. You should post up in the Buy/Sell forum and ask if anyone has a small card that they would give you. I know you will find one or two. It is the holiday season :)

I did not know that. I never really played around a a non-paid member. I guess he could post it in General or something.

Nah, The default will let you take pics without a card - Now if you want to see them after is when you need to pre-purchase a card :-)

Never knew about the register and get a card thing - Guess I should have registered huh.
