I'm so sorry to hear about your accident - sounds utterly terrifying!
Glad you're mostly OK though I'm sure it will still take some time to heal fully...
OUCH!

Oh so sorry about your accident. It's a major headache on all fronts. Thank goodness you were not hurt worse!

Glad to hear that you are alright. Accidents are no fun to be in...

You guys did get a lot more snow up your way over the past couple of days. I'm only about an hour away and we didn't get a single flurry. I had to be in KC this weekend for a couple of shoots and there was still a loooot of snow around. Although the roads were all cleared off pretty well.

Honestly, the snow wasn't that bad at the time. All of the snow had happened that day, but the highway was fine for the most part. The parts that were bad were the shoulder and the area between the two lanes, which is why I spun out while I was switching lanes. I was also told that the fact that I had cruise control on probably didn't help my cause. Apparently (I was told) that when your car is in cruise and hits ice it immediately speeds up because of traction issues...I'm not sure, but none the less I will not be using cruise control in the near future. Not that I have a vehicle to drive...

You should have engaged the Crash Control. ;-) Hopefully your insurance covers the wreck and you'll get a replacement soon. :)

With the airbag not going off like it should have maybe Honda should pay for the chipped teeth! heh

Depending on how new the vehicle is (side curtain airbags), most airbags go off from front end collision. Not sure if sides would go off in a rollover either though.

Glad your okay. Ever notice you hear a lot more "testimonials" from people WEARING seatbelts than not? ie: Had an accident to my ED just prior to Thanksgiving...7 guys on the way to work in a Suburban. Rolled off the highway at 75mpg. 6 were belted and one not. Guess who had minor abrasions and sore areas? Now guess which one was ejected and rolled over on by the vehicle?

I shudder to think of what would have happened if I had not had my seat belt on. I don't know if the original post said this, but the only door we are able to open to this day is the driver side...I think we might have been able to pry one of the right side doors open with a bar at the tow place, but I am so lucky that as soon as my car flipped my driver side door mysteriously popped open, or I could have been stuck in my car...had I not had my seatbelt on though...gees. I went back to the "scene" today to look for my tablet PC's pen, my glasses and my cell phone battery...three things I'm kind of missing more than others...we found all but the PC pen, glasses were completely in tact and folded up even though they were on my face at the time of the accident...crazy. Anywho, I can't believe how far I skid down that hill...pictures just really don't show how far I went...it was quite a shocker to see it in broad daylight.

Anywho...the airbag debate, I guess at first I thought that the reason they didn't go off was because of no front impact, but then how do you explain the fact that the front of my car had impacted the ground so much that it was half buried in mud and dug into the ground, or the fact that my grill, bumper...everything were not in tact.

I was in a wreck where someone came flying over a hill while I was at a four way stop (about 4 cars back) and slammed into my car pushing me into the car in front of me and so forth and so forth...ending up with about 7 cars damaged, my airbags went off then with very little force. I wonder if it was worth it to pay $1000 to get them reinstalled because it doesn't seem that they worked...

I would have that checked out and see if they didn't screw up the reinstallation and maybe at least get your money back.

This is an excellent example of how seatbelts save lives. Too bad about the equipment but its all replaceable..... you're not. Glad you're okay.

So glad you are ok. I hope you got an extensive looking over by a doctor and some possible pain meds prescribed, a lot of times you won't feel some injuries till the next day or more, especially the neck and back. I urge you to not ignore any pains you have in the future (especially near future) and get them checked out, it may mean the difference in who pays for medical bills. Good luck and again, glad you are ok.
