So I came back from shooting, turned on the monitor, and the screen is messed up big time. Rebooting doesn't fix it, display settings seem nominal. I have never seen anything like this before. Here's a screen shot of full screen. The grayed out panel was added by me to hide my challenge submissions. I'm seeing a pale screen with ghosts in it, all the letters are ghosting white images, there are horizontal pale ghost bars, what's going on?

I'm gonna turn it off for a while and see if it restores itself, but...

Monitor's a La Cie Electron Blue 22 inch, if that matters.

Hmmmm...

Maybe time to get you an LCD screen. Gateway has a 22" display for only $399. I paid $599 for my 21" about 9 months ago. :(

It's hard for me to believe it's a monitor problem 'cuz the screen looks fine with the wallpaper up and just the desktop showing. It's when I OPEN something that the window looks grotesque. This is really bad. Anyone have any constructive suggestions?

The image is too small for me to see what you're talking about. Can you post a crop of one section showing the problem?

Im pressuming you have reset the monitor back to factory defaults already yes?.. and maybe tried degaussing it too.. Dont know what PC you have but if the video memory is shared it MIGHT be an issue with that, could be video drivers, Try reinstalling directX and even the motherboard drivers if you have an onboard vid card. That's about all the help I can suggest, been a while since I owned a PC but I have repaired a few for my sons.

It dont sound like monitor to me either to be honest sound like the vid card going a bit mental when its put under load..
