Just bought it for my wife's b-day. Her best friend has had, I think the 20, for a long time and she totally fell in love with it. I tried to get her that one but when the new ones came out I couldn't find the 20 anymore. I didn't like the next generation but sure like the looks and options on the 50. She doesn't think she is as good of a photographer as she is so she's a little scared of all the stuff it will do but she's promised to learn it. I got it at my military store for like $650 then last week it went on sale so I took the receipt back and got $40 credited back.

On a side note I also just got my daughter the Lumix dmc fx01 for Christams, so that she can have something small to throw in her purse. A panasonic person was in the store showing it off and I loved the anti-shake and low light options it has, she'll really use that being a teen and always on the move. I also like the sturdy feel of both cameras.
