I have decided to quit DPC due to favoritism in Site Council, were users can call me a liar an trash my name, but I'm not allowed to answer the namecalling.

I have deleted my portfolio and I demand that Site Council deletes my challenge entires as they are copyright material and DPC do NOT have my permission to display my pictures while I am not a member of this site !

so I say farewell to all that have been good to me in the 2 years I have been a member and commented on my photos.

and thanks to Site Council the DPC gtg in Iceland has now been canceled, a whole year of planning, hundreds of hours of work doing deals and gathering information for the gtg is now being deleted, those that were looking forward to coming to Iceland I'm sorry, but you just have to thank Site Council for their determination in pushing me out of this site and destroying your vacation.

I am not judging all Site Council members, I know there are some decent people in the Council, they just didn't get there in time to save the gtg...

regards DanSig.

Actually they do, the challenge entries as well as those images you have deleted from your account ...

In any event, I hope you enjoy your holiday.

Bit one sided that story..

Anyone care to elaborate..

I just LOVE gossip..

Yeah, it's stated in the TOS when you sign up that challenge entries stay no matter what. Your portfolio is yours and you take it with you.

Sad to see another person leave, but not sad to see some divisiveness leave with them.

Good luck Dan.

I'm sorry but canceling the GTG which I'm sure some people were looking forward to is just uncalled for. You should be ashamed of treating people that way who had nothing to do with your beef. I find it to be a bit immature and am now very glad i didn't put my faith into you when i was thinking of attending.

hope things work out better for you in the future

now that's just plain rude !

this was ment as a DPC gtg, but I will not be a member of DPC and not participate in this site after tomorrow, so there is no way for me to be in touch with all those wanting to come to the GTG, after my profile is deleted I will not visit this site again while the kind of favoritism runs this site as was the reason for my departure.

since no member of DPC had paid confirmaiton then there was no real loss to any of them, just hundreds of hours of work I have done is lost and can't be replaced.

there is still hope for the trip to Iceland, but it will NOT be a DPC gtg, but I might hand over all my work to a travel agent that can complete the work and go on with the trip as he sees fit.

I was called a liar and other things in another thread, I answered but got censored, but the post calling me a liar can stay, that is not the kind of site I want to be a part of, either there is FREEDOM OF SPEACH or not, there can't be freedom for some.....

Dan got in a "fight" with some other DPC'ers, he feels that he was wronged by the site council for having one of his posts deleted and the thread locked. I did not see the post, so I can't make any value judgments on it.

Having just boned up on the thread which prompted this all I can say is that I'm really glad I didn't sign up for the GTG or spend anything I couldn't recoup in preparation for doing so... can you imagine travelling all those miles only to be left high and dry in the middle of the trip because the responsible person got in a tizzy? A lucky escape, I'd call it.

For those wondering: This is about this thread.

Dan,

As David.C has correctly noted, challenge entries are permanent and may not be removed. This is covered by section 6.2 of the DPChallenge Terms of Use, which you agreed to when you joined the site.

If you would like to know why your post was removed, you are welcome to use the Contact Page (use the DPChallenge - General Inquiry option) to request clarification. Of course, if you prefer to jump to conclusions, it is your privilege to do that as well.

If you wish to have your account removed, we need you to request that via the Contact Page as well so there's a paper trail. Again, use the DPChallenge - General Inquiry option for fastest response.

~Terry

So more name-calling is the answer? Very immature.

... and again you respond to someone expressing their opinion with a person attack (name-calling). Yes this one and the one prompting all this were undiplomatic in their approach, but they are not personal attacks against you -- just what you have typed.

If you are going to state something is true, particularly if it is outlandish, be prepared to defend the statement. Personal attacks are definitely something we don't need around here.

okay, yeah. I'm not choosing sides here. Just saying people need to calm down. It's a website, not a religion.

It's not?

Lets have a topic about religion, at least that is something we will all be able to agree on.. that and politics.
