Hey all,
When I bought Adobe PS CS2 a couple months ago (the $299 upgrade deal from Elements), I got 2 free issues of the NAPP magazine (National Association of Photoshop Professionals). I LOVE the magazine--tons of great stuff, and I've learned a lot just from 2 issues. I'm strongly considering joining despite the rather steep $99 per year cost, but I was wondering if the other perks--more access to their website, discounts, etc, are a big bonus, or just a nice throw-in along with the magazine subscription. So, I'm looking to hear from members. Do you use the other perks of the membership very much, or is the magazine the only part you really use? Thanks!

I just signed up today. Besides the mag and the extra tutorials online, there are tons of podcasts, archived tutorials, video lessons and there's probably more, not the least of which is PS support.
$99/year is still pretty cheap even if it was just for the mag and site subscription.
But, I am still wanting to know what other dpc'ers who are/have been members say about the NAPP. Is it all they make it out to be?

I was a member for four years but have dropped it.
It's very good and there is a lot of industry news discounts, and updates for Photoshop. It's good I just don't have the extra $ right now. |

Free shipping @B&H and discounts when the traveling PhotoShop Gurus come to town with their bag of tricks.

I was a member for a year, and loved the magazine. For me, the issue is partly living in Europe - not too many of the discounts apply here. Also, I thought I would use the website more than I did, but always find myself spending all my time here at dpc :)
It seems like I've found plenty of podcasts free, so that wasn't a huge benefit for me. The biggest thing was the magazine, which I really did like. |

The membership fee seems kind of steep, but a couple of orders at B&H with free shipping offsets the cost enough to make the resulting price worth the magazine. The website never seemed very user friendly. I didn't spend much time there learning my way around to take advantage of the content. The magazine is exceptional...

I got a membership for my birthday back in Aug. The mag is fantastic and I love watching Photoshop tv. I like the video tutorials on their website but it took some time to figure the site out. One of the best things I have found is the ability to see the past Photoshop tv episodes anytime I want. Each week is free for everyone but you can't forget or you missed it. This way I can go back and catch up whenever I want. Most associations are 2-300 bucks a year so I find the fee reasonable. However, If I had to foot the bill myself, I would still be waiting. I can think of a zillion things that the money would get spent on instead. lol
Do I like it? Yep Love it, I have learned so much from them!

I'm not a memeber, but use the podcasts in my own archive on ITunes.
There are other podcasts out there besides NAPP, but, granted they are the king.
I also find great tut's online in other non-NAPP sites.
Plus, the magazine is for sale at least at my local magazine/paper store.
