Things are a bit different here in Japan. Yes, they do sell Christmas cards, but Christmas here is largely a commercial venture (oh, so maybe it's not so different...). So people buy trees and decorations and give gifts (judging by the crowds at Toizarasu (Toys'R'Us) yesterday, but there's a lot of Christmas tradition lacking.
Anyway, the HUGE card-sending event is New Year, and for many years I've sent cards to Japanese friends. And I've always made them. For a long time I did woodblock prints, but this year I took photos of Hanafuda cards and Photoshopped them together. The Chinese Zodiac year is the Year of the Boar...

Our wee lad Conor features on our first home-made card. He's the perfect excuse!

But Judi, why add a kid on the card that's not yours?

Freaks out the relatives. ...like eug. ;-)

You trying to say I'm RELATED to Judi? Scary... ;)

This was a shot I took in, ummm, Paris, but all I had was my on board flash. Anyway, we thought it would make a nice Christmas card for this year.
