about this picture that i took.. I'm curious If you all would have rated this well in the reflection challenge.. if so what would you have rated it and what tips might you have to help me improve it?! thanks...

I'd have given it a 5 or 6(5 is my usual low vote). it has pretty colors but no real focal point. my eye enters the picture and then just moves right on out of it. I would just pass it very quickly. theres nothing to study or stop me. HTH

It is quite nice and would meet the challenge well, but I do feel that it is lacking a strong captivating subject. The colors are nice, but it also seems like it's lacking the tack-sharp quality that a landscape such as this deserves. Maybe I just can't tell because it's a relatively small image but that's how I'm seeing it here. Just needs a strong element to grab a viewers attention and say something. I would have to say 6.

| Water reflections seem to do quite well in many challenges. But, there are usually several, and for one to score well, it needs to stand out. This has nice reflections but I think jaded hit it on the head... your eye just travels right on out through the blue sky. In this case, a landscape crop would focus a little more attention to the reflected trees. Just take off the top 1/3 of the pic and a smidge from the bottom. It is a very peaceful image. FWIW, probably a 5-6 vote from me. |

| Not much here. I'd vote a 3 or 4 as there is simply no detail in it. |
