okay, I'm officially depressed. I thought a 4.8 in "the year you were born" was bad enough. But now this! wtf!
I must need a break...some time to gain some perspective. That turkey must've fried my brain...I knew it wasn't good, yet I entered it anyway. I need a break, just a few days maybe a week. Now I'm off to turn off the update button while my lifetime average slowly withers away into the depths of hell with all the trolls. Adeiu, Adeiu!

So, how white is white, and how light is light?
I had the impression that white was white, but to make sure I let the background be in the order of 240-240-240 (not that, but close, won't be revealed). 1 comment says it is burned. Yes, white IS burned, isn't it? It does not become more burned than white, too bad I am at 4.7 something. I did not want any sub 5s any more, and thought I was OK with this one.

| I didn't eneter this challenge as I had to work through the weekend, but perhaps it is just as well as the quality of submissions for this challenge is so high! I am having a really enjoyable time going through and scoring - and I am only a third of the way through. I tend to go through giving gut reaction scores and then have a more leisurely re-run adjusting up or down, as the case may be, and leaving comments; I suspect that there a couple of photos that I shall be marking as favourites! |

How can you be so specific thinkng it was a 5.7?
Why didnt you enter one that in your eye was a 9.7?
I can understand when people are so sure scored. I've just entered a flower just to see what happened (me a flower!) and it could be my highst score!You never know what's going to happen in this rollercoaster ride of photography.

Hmmm... judging by everyone's reaction in this thread, apparently the rest of the early voters don't agree or were in a bad mood last night. Myself, I have an image that I know is far better than an "average photo" and yet it's scoring around 5.4 at the moment. And yes, it's definitely light and it's definitely on white.

I feel the same way and I'm at 4.8. Feels kinda odd after finishing with a 6.5 something in Postcards. It's like part of the time I suck, and some times I don't.
When I think I understand DPC voters, I get slapped in the face with this.
