Looking to find one for my son who knows nothing about image editing. He needs to resize and/or crop a picture.

I looked at Picasa and it will crop, but mentions nothing about resizing or changing resolution.

Oh, it has to be simple!

Anything out there?

Picasa does resizing quite easily when you export a pic, or you can email from within Picasa and do a resize then. It does some funky things with colors if you play with the contrast or colors or lighting, but for a casual non-technical user who just wants to be able to do some tweaks and email pix around it's not bad at all.

Irfanview also is a free program that lets you resize and such pretty easily. I haven't played with it enough to compare usability, but I bet someone has.

Thanks :)

I found a couple at Tucows and I will try them out myself - might be useful for thumbnail and smaller version creation on the fly!

My son can write room-long math formulas, but is so lost in this area LOL

Might want to take a look at the Gimp ... //www.gimp.org It's free and quite powerful.

Gimp might be too complicated, so I'd recommend Irfanview.
