Its early from backorder!!!
a couple cancelations gave it to me a week early!!

this is an awsome camera!
I cannot beleive how good it is :D
Theres not too much I can say.. but to anyone who hasn't used anything but compacts and old 100% manual SLR's, they are just sooo much.......awsome!
I cannot beleive the speed, accuracy and so on of the focus, and how nice the lens feel (comared to these old pentax 1986 lenses I have, no AF or anything)
I can't beleive I said I'm not fussed about AF, I didn't even image them being this quick.... shocked!
and DOF preview... sweet.

unfortunately they didn't send me my mem card.. so only have a 8M for a couple days till my 512 turns up, but atleast I can take a couple photo's before uploading!!

I'm so excited, must leave and play with camera more, haven't opened manual yet, just turned dials and pushed buttons, must go!!!!

Poor Matt, maybe you should check out the gear page I've been working on my site ... Jacko's toys.

I am not jealous of your gear - I like looking at the 10D and going "yeah.....cooooool...." but I see the D300 and I'm like "I WANT THAT NOW." I could get that cam soon - but then I'd have to eat Ramen noodles while I saved for the lenses. lol I'm getting there, but it'll be a few months still. But oh yes, I WILL have that cam.

Good job saving up for the 300D buddy. You'll get it eventually.

I've only been poking my head in every now and then for a couple of weeks, but Mav...you're saying EVERYTHING that I've been thinking for a month! LOL I couldn't have put it better myself.

Now I'm all scheming too. I'm like "well, if I file my taxes on January 1st and if I e-file, I might have my refund before the end of the month. If I combine that with all of the money for the Xmas presents that I return PLUS eat nothing but ramen and grade D beef for a couple of months I could do it. OH! I wonder if I could find it somewhere that would let me put it on 6-months-same-as-cash and then I could get it now! But then by the time I'm paying it off something better will be out and I'll just feel all stupid for buying that in the first place." etc etc etc.

And then, inevitably, every time after I go on one of these mental journeys, I walk into my kitchen and see the depressing, 50s-era cabinets and linoleum floor and go "oh... I have other things to spend my money on." IT'S NOT RATIONAL BUT I STIL WANT IT! LOL LOL

I like Ramen noddles. So I bought the camera even though I couldn't really afford it.......My wife is still eating steak, but at least I'm taking pictures. LOL!

Save up, eat Ramen, cheat on your taxes if you must, but you won't regret it after you buy this camera.

I had to work fast. With a baby on the way, I was purposely being liberal with spending my savings. Don't worry, I got Baby Samuel's college fund started already.
