Well, I never thought I would say this, but I am moving away from Pennsylvania! *tears*
Its for a good reason however, I'm moving to be with the one that I love =)
This is a call out to you, my fellow Maryland folk! I ask of you, if there are any camera clubs in maryland like the one I belong to now (www.delawarecountycameraclub.com). I know of the club in Wilmington, De... but I only want to travel there if it is absolutely neccessary. its 8 dollars in tolls one way.
So, if anyone can assist me, that would be great! Also, I will be friendless (less my girlfriend), so if anyone wants to hang out, show me around, and become buddies, well swell!!!
I will be living in Aberdeen. It's going to suck not knowing any places to shoot!!!

I wish I could help. We moved within MD - from Ellicott City to Southern MD a year ago, and I still don't know any good areas to shoot. :-)
City wise - Baltimore.

This site will give you a listing of all the camera clubs in the Maryland area.
Of course no guarantees they will be like the one you are leaving...
:-)
PSA (Photographic Society of America) is a good resource for camera clubs all across the USA. |

First of all, Aberdeen is not on the Eastern Shore. It is still part of "Central Maryland". Just barely, but still there. Once you cross the Susquehanna, then it becomes the Eastern Shore. But lets not quibble.
I live two towns away from Aberdeen, so maybe we could hook up sometime. As far as camera clubs, I have no idea, I never really looked in to it. Wilminington is probably less than an hour drive from Aberdeen, so if you don't find anything else, that may be the way to go.

Thanks for the correction. I look forward to shooting in havre de grace. And yes, we'll have to hook up sometime.

Just kidding with you on the Eastern Shore thing. Havre de Grace ROCKS. As you can tell, the highlight (for me) is the lighthouse (there's a heron that hangs around). And the train bridge is pretty cool too. There's also a waterfall in the northern part of the county, an old mill near Havre de Grace, and a covered bridge on the Baltimore County line. Plus lots of farms. Cecil County (across the river) has a couple of covered bridges (I've never been to them), a small zoo, and another lighthouse. And of course, if you like baseball, Aberdeen has the IronBirds. It's just really hard to get tickets.

There are ALOT of great places to shoot in Maryland! I moved here from PA about 7 years ago and haven't regretted it at all! I'm a member of the Central Maryland Photographer's Guild in Howard County, but I know there are alot of clubs around. Welcome to Mur-lyn! |

Oh, and don't get any crazy ideas about entering your photography in the county fair. It's mine. I own it. Don't even think about it. Got that?

We're about 45-60 minutes from Aberdeen, and 20 minutes west of Baltimore. |

OK, I meant I could not help with clubs, but click here for most excellent references and links to each county.
