After a slow start, which is natural, the business is actually starting to happen. the ads in the local paper are generating custom, and my site is finally finished. the husband bought me a nice new flash for my b-day, and i bought myself a lowepro slingshot bag. i've had 4 paying customers in the past 2 weeks, and 3 winners of local contests, and have 2 more lined up. woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my family looks at me like i'm mad every time i do a victory dance when i get a new 'phone call or emai enquiring about sittings. YAY! i can't teach any more, so maybe i can make a living from what i love?!
i just had to brag - the man is away on business, so i'll do it here...

Sounds great! A lovely launch. Out of curiosity, how come you can't teach anymore?

i qualified to teach in england and, despite having 7 years international junior high, senior high and a level experience, i have to requalify to teach here. that, having a 3 year old, and the parlous state of art education and funding from our shortsighted provincial government have combined to make me say - o never mind. i do miss it, but hey - i got the photography degree first, right? so, back to my first love...
bitter? me? nah....

Yay Christian!! You'll not only do well, you're gonna kick butt. Way to go! Keep us all informed on your successes - always good to hear when the somewhat underrated (though not by some of us) do well in the real world. Your work is both awesome and inspiring! |
