How were these shots taken. What equipment did you use? Did you use protective filtering to protect your cameras imaging device?

I used both my Canon D60 and Sony 707 on my C80 spotter scope. It has a 400mm focal length @ f5. And I use a solar filter
here is the set up.... and this little scope is under $200
