I think it would be interesting to see how the images placed in the challenge between forum posters. I would say only include those who have posted in the forum more than X number of times. My suggestion for X would be 3.

Why would this be a good idea? I am sure that some of the best photographers do not post on the forums and I would hate to see their photos not count.

Yeah, forum use is not any kind of indication of talent. I should know.:^)

I agree that I'm not keen on dividing the photographers into subgroups of any kind.

However, I don't think chariot was thinking about division of talent or anything like that. I think he was thinking more in line with the way the computer stats show how photographers rated a photo versus voters.

Which I am sorta curious about but thats just casue I'm weird that way:-)

Maybe you misunderstood. I'm not saying to replace the current results. I'm saying it would be interesting to see how you fared against some of the people you usually have conversations with. I would take it a step further and start breaking it down by country and region as well. Just to get an idea of how different people think.

Not that this is necessarily a bad idea, I just don't think this is as pressing as some others might be. I think it would be a logistical nightmare for the webmasters who are working really hard as it is.

Actually it really wouldn't be a logistical nightmare if they designed their database right. I do this sort of thing for a living. I'd even help them out with the SQL (cause I don't do ASP) if they wanted but I'm sure they are capable. But hey, this was just a suggestion, I'm not one to dictate their schedule.
