Being a slow learner, I was not able to participate in HDR challenge. Finally I worked on my first HDR and I'm posting it for your feedback/comments. This is done by using single RAW file (after converting it into three TIFFs with -1, 0, +1 exposure).

Also, are their any free tools available for HDR generation which do not leave watermarks on photos? I was not able to find any. Pl help.

It looks nice but somehow need to process it in a way you do not have a hallow around the edges . HDR is far over used for most photos. This one may work good but the hallow needs to be controlled. Nice try

I agree with the statement about the halo effect.

easyHDR has a free version of their software, but it doesn't have as many options as Photomatix.

Hey I'm a newbie to HDR as well. Just keep in mind that it's all too easy to over do it. Subtly is key I think, otherwise you'll get displeasing effects like haloing or it just turns out looking like an articial posterized mess of something. One thing that helped me was playing with different exposure ranges and just working with the process over and over. Try doing a shot and widening your range to 3 stops under and 3 stops over. Also try making three separte captures of the same composition at different exposure levels and combining those three. I find my results to be better when I do it that way. Good luck! 8o)

Post an unedited version of the shot, preferably at 800 pixels or so, and I'll run it through Photomatix myself to tone map it and see what happens. If you like, of course...

Of course, I would love you to play with my photo and give me chance to learn :)

Anyway, what do you mean by unedited photo? I converted my RAW into three jpegs (-1,0,1) and merged them. Do you want the merged jpeg or original RAW?
