Okay...I am near on pulling my hair out here. As I have mentioned before my pc crashed and I had to reinstall my programmes including CS2. I have done the Adobe updates and yet I am having troubles.

My images look muted and washed out UNTIL I go to SFW...and there they show over saturated.

Here are my Colour Settings -

Here are my Convert to Profile Settings -

Here is the same image. The one at the back is the large saved size (Save As) and the one in the front is the SFW image. You can see the SFW is oversaturated.

Here is the same image again. The one at the back is the SFW. The one at the front is the Large Saved As file but with Assign to Profile. Now I can say that I have NOT changed any camera settings. What setting is causing this to happen. I want to be able to do SFW knowing the colour will not change and without having to manually Assign every image to Profile.

Ok it seems I have found the problem. Apparently SFW isn't colour managed so I am viewing it straight through the monitor. I have found that my monitor had the default colour profile set at AdobeRGB1998. I have located the SRGB Colour Space Profile and set that as the default...and that is a huge improvement. It is still one shade too red, so I wonder if there is a better colour profile out there that I should be using.

Please...someone...can I have some help here...!

SFW - Save for Web?

are you including the ICC profile in both cases?

what does it look like in a web browser?

Thanks! Including the ICC profile (whatever that may be) keeps my colors the same (but the SFW (Save for Web) file is a lot smaller).
