I am looking at possibly buying my first Alien Bee. I need some studio lighting.

That said, I have a lot of audio equipment (speaker, lighting, & mic stands).

I am wondering how the alien bees mount on the stands? What the mounting format is. I mean, if I can save the money and just use my tele-lock speaker stands and use a mount adapter of some sorts, that'd be great.

So can someone provide some info...screw mount? clip? what...thanks!!!

Its a thumb screw on the bees that mounts over a fitted shaft on the light stand. You could probably improv, but I'd worry about security. Would suck to have a light fall.

On the end of the light stand, there's a 5/8-inch brass stud for attaching the flash unit̢۪s mounting block. You just slip the mounting block over the stud and tighten the thumbscrew.
