I'm looking to buy the Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens and i've been browsing the net looking for the lowest price I can find and came across a website called www.dirtcheapcameras.com.au

Before I hand over a wad of cash, has anyone ever used this website or heard good/bad things about it?

got to //www.resellerratings.com. If they have a low rating stayaway.
I can't find it on the website however, perhaps search for a reseller rating type of site in australia that can help you out, sorry not much help.

Try B&H, see what they want for shipping. Not many places more trusted than them.

Added: The lens itself is $450 cheaper.

I did a quick google search for them, there is not much in the results, but most feedback seemed ok or positive.

i've only managed to find one review of that store online it basically said communication with the store was poor but in the end it was all okay - they seem to have a store somewhere in sydney so at least it doesn't look like they are likely to take my money and run!

I've had excellent service with Buydig as well as 17th Street Photo. Fast service, fast shipping, and no "follow-up" calls to try and sell you a bunch of stuff you don't want. As a matter of fact, I just bought and returned a Tamron 200-500 zoom to 17th Street Photo due to poor image sharpness. No questions asked, and the lens amount was credited back to my credit card account within a day. My only complaint is that 17th Street has a 7-day return policy. Other than that, very easy to do business with.

As with any on-line purchase, always find out about the store's return policy before buying an item. I checked 17th Street's almost too close to the deadline and ended up paying $67 USD to Fedex to return it overnight. Luckily, I was given a full credit and wasn't charged a re-stocking fee.
