Some of you are doubtless familiar with JP's alfresco phrase "craptography" which he uses to describe not-quite-amazing images.

With that loosely in mind, we have captured the rights to Craptography.com and would now like to build a website that makes the most of the phrase. Kind of a home on the web for craptographers.

So, ok, here is the question and where participation would be very appreciated:

What do you think when you hear "craptography"?

Does it relate to you in any way?

What features/functions would you expect to see on a Craptography website?

Do you have any ideas for logos or "site motto"?

Will JP win the world series?

Ok, forget the last one. :) Any help is much appreciated.

God I hope not, but it might.

Mockery galore.

"Pictures Worth a Thousand Turds"

I'd like to use "Kodak Movements," but somehow I think that might be a problem. ;-)

Is this gonna be a site where you post crap you have "discovered", or a place for us to post crap of our own? IN other words, are we making fun of other peoples' work, or of our own?

I think the answer should be, "Yes."

I don't get it, you started a web site, but are not sure what to do with it? Shouldn't it be the other way around? :)

What's craptography in your understanding? What do you mean by "home to craptographers"?

I have not heard the word before, but to me it sounds synonymous to 'hairy mushroom cat sunset'; most of so-called photography of matches, water droplets, hairy insects, plants, cats, and, the last but not the least, landscapes painted in PS on top of a photograph - all fill the bill for this genre.

//websitesthatsuck.com/ would be good inspiration for craptography.com. Learn to take good pictures by seeing bad ones.

When I think of "Craptography", I think of crap (as in dog crap or poo), so...

"Craptography --Keeping one eye in the viewfinder, the other where you are stepping." :-D

or

"Craptography --Where craptographers don't give a damn!"

or

"Craptography --Where craptographers use Craptoshop CS2"

or

"Craptography --Craptographers helping Craptographers"

or

"Craptography --Where your eyes bleed."

or

"Craptography --Just like Medusa"

I like that Craig!

Some great motto ideas, I should have known Shannon and Erick would be full of 'em! :D

And no, we didn't start a website and now need ideas, we have a concept and a domain name and now want to build a website. Agenkin, your answer to "what does craptography mean to you" is exactally what I was hoping to hear. Its a non-word (officially), but it has instant connotations, that's why I think its a concept-word that communicates well.

Hmmm you think Crazy Doll Lady will loan us a shot for the homepage? :D

A substantial portion of my entire portfolio probably qualifies...

I experiment a lot and the results are usually not worth the effort!

I have a couple of classic shots of the inside of my camera bag I'd like to contribute.

"Manure, even in its finest and purest form, is nothing more than crap."

How about a 'crappiest' of the day page.
