Has anyone worked with PictureStock before? How is it and is it worth it? Are you selling photos and how much are they going for?

i think i remember a discussion about this a while back on here perhaps or on another forum. It seemed more like a 'scam' to get you to dish out the $$ to get one of their 'press passes'. then supposedly they might sell some of your pictures. You might do better, making your own press pass out of plastic and cardboard and shooting for alamy...... or contacting the local paper for gigs.

I'd run screaming from any outfit that wants to charge you an up-front "distribution fee" on your images. |

haha...I'm not crazy enough to consider getting a press pass from a stock site. I don't see how that is supposed to work. I was more questioning if someone ever actually attempted to send in photos and if any of them sold. According to their site, they sell images for a minimum of $300....I have no clue how that works when companies can go to other stock sites for cheaper images.
I'm always very nervous about sending in money to anyone for anything...especially something like this. That is why i wanted to ask first. If I heard good things, then I'd attempt it...if not then I'd steer as far away as possible. So far i've heard no one actually try it and everyone fearing it. |
