The last one was in 2003... Long before my time on this site!
There is far too little grittiness, graininess, dirt etc. on this site. Most winning shots look like advertising shots. Stunningly beautiful but tending towards a set style.
Also it might give NON-Icelanders like me a chance for a ribbon... :-)

you would have to run a rural landscapes challenge at the same time for all the poor folk like me who are 6 hours from the closest city, which is a good thing - I like the sound of a "rural life" challenge.

| Fair enough - good suggestion as long as there is the grittiness and some dirt there as well. |

That's also a good idea. maybe I'll just hold off cleaning my sensor until that challenge comes up...

Yes PLEASE can we have a challenge that pushes the un-pretty boundaries... most challenges invite chocolate box pictures, while few encourage getting in contact with life that's not comfortable!! Urban landscape is good (providing rural landscape as an option for the out-of-towners).
Maybe just "Gritty" is a good one.
What about "on the streets"...? |
