Stupid question, but how can I back up my ipod to an external hard drive? It only gives me the option to back it up to CD's.
Thanks!

If you're using windows, the ipod should show up as another external HD. Just copy from one to the other.

On Wondows, do the music files loaded via iTunes show up in HD mode?
I didn't think that they did, unless you have some other software to view hidden files.

THey don't show up right then and there when you go in to the ipod. You have to go through a couple of folders first (I think the chain is something like Ipod Control>Itunes>Libraries). Eventually you get to a series of numbered folders that contain the music files. I don't know why it does not organize it the same way it is found in your documents on Windows. Must be one of those crazy Mac things. |
