Here's some things I've come up with. Some, many, or all of them may have been used in the past, but here they are anyway. :-)
Back to School - children, college, books, teacher, bus
Labor Day - People in the workplace
Construction - road work, house, building
Medical/Health Care - could be as simple as a toothbrush
A container/Storage - something that 'contains' something. Could be a fence, a jar, a ziplock bag
Furniture - modern or antique, sofa, lamp, curio
Friendship - could be adults, children, a dog & cat, a child with a teddy bear
Harvest/Crops - grapes, apples, corn, pumpkins
Halloween- Pumpkins, costumes...it's coming up soon!
Farming - animals, equipment, crops, barn, field
Religion - church, book (Bible, Koran), cross, rosaries, confessional
Shapes - circles, squares, triangles, ovals
Numbers - Find numbers in everyday life
Equipment - sports, heavy equipment (tractors, dumptrucks, plows), photography, computer
Fashion/Dress - wedding, native, nuns, a homeless person, a clown. Anything where the the dress of a person would explain who the person is.
Destruction - flood, fire, wind damage, something broken
Waterfalls
Streams
Childrens' Toys
Humor
Progressive - I don't know how well this would work. Like, a flower bud blooming into a flower, a sun setting, someone speeding by on a bicycle, a plane taking off. Lots of things you could use. Anything showing change. You could make all the images into one strip to submit as one photo (would have to allow more manipulations than typical contests).
And my favorite:
Faces in Strange Places - Here's an example. I think it would make for a really fun contest and would allow people to get creative at the same time.

Halloween = Speed Challenge includes uniforms/costumes for countries without Halloween.
Mechanical = Like a hand cranked blender, bicycles,etc.
Furniture = chairs, bed, sofa, tables,etc.
Humor - revisited would be cool.

fadoi, a Halloween speed challenge would be fun. I don't always remember that not everyone celebrates. :-/ Mechanical would be good, too.

I'd like to see a Halloween challenge with no holds barred. Weird effects encouraged. Maybe even open it up and let everybody enter????

Halloween challenge would be great! My birthday is October 30, so a party is always a must here, we celebrate halloween and my birthday all at once. Would make for some interesting shots. LOL..especially with my friends. great idea. Hope it is considered.
