I was recently on a trip where there was a tour. The tour guide was dressed in Civil War costume. It was a public tour and they expect people to take pictures. I of course had my camera on me and took photos. Do you need a model release for public tours like that? To me it's the equivalent of taking pictures of a parade or something.

It really depends on what you want to use the photos for. Typically you only need model releases for commercial photography (ie advertising and stock). For editorial and art photos a model release isn't usually required.

Thanks. The ones that show the guys face will probably only be used for editorial purposes and for my portfolio. There are a couple that don't have the guys face and they will probably be used for stock (well my first attempts at Stock)
