Does anybody have any idea about DVI cables?
I have a DVI-I graphics card and cable, but the monitor is DVI-D. Is it possible to modify a DVI-I cable to fit in a DVI-D port? (Pins explained here). To basically turn a DVI-I>DVI-I cable into a DVI-I>DVI-D cable. |

My understanding is that a DVI-I port has analog data output and thus uses a couple extra pins. DVI-D is just the digital signal.
If your card is DVI-I it supports digital and analog output via the same cable. If your monitor port is DVI-D it only going to accept digital input. All you need to do is is use a DVI-D cable since all you need to use is the digital signial. |
